Privacy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

In short

  • No advertising, no third-party trackers and no tracking cookies. We never sell or share your data for marketing.
  • We count visits without cookies and without storing your IP address; a visitor can't be followed from one day to the next.
  • An account needs only your email address. You can delete it, with everything attached, from your account page.
  • Everything is stored on our servers in Germany. Nothing is sent outside the EU.

Who is responsible

Wineseekr (wineseekr.com) is run by Seekr Group ApS, CVR 46750705, Tingvej 5, 6650 Brørup, Denmark, the data controller for the personal data described here. Write to info@wineseekr.com or use the contact form about anything on this page. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer and have not done so.

When you visit

Server logs. Our web server records each request (IP address, browser, page, time) to keep the site secure and to find faults. The logs are deleted after 14 days.

Visit statistics, without cookies. To see which pages are used and which shops visitors go on to, your browser sends us a short note when a page opens and when you click through to a shop. We store the page, the website you came from (its name only), whether it was a phone, the shop and wine of a click, and a visitor code made on our server from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day. Your IP address itself is not stored, and the code is useless the next day. Signed-in visitors are counted by their account. These records are deleted after 13 months.

Delivery country. On your first visit we guess your delivery country from your browser's language setting, to show prices you can actually order; the guess is not stored.

Visitors who use tools that block scripts are simply not counted.

If you create an account

You sign up with your email address (we send you a one-time sign-in link, no password) or with your LotSeekr account. We store:

  • your email address, and your name if your LotSeekr account has one;
  • the language you signed up in (for our emails);
  • your wine agents and price alerts, your saved wines and your email settings;
  • when you last signed in and when you last used the site.

A sign-in link is valid once, for 30 minutes. To stop misuse we store it (as a fingerprint, not the link itself) with your email address and the IP address that asked for it; these records are deleted after one day.

We keep your account until you delete it. Deleting it on your account page removes your account, agents, alerts and saved wines at once.

Sign in with LotSeekr. LotSeekr (also run by Seekr Group ApS) tells us your email address, name and LotSeekr account number when you choose it; nothing else is exchanged. If the same email address also has a Wineseekr account, the two become one.

Emails we send

We send sign-in links when you ask for one, and the finds of your wine agents at the pace you choose: at once, daily, weekly, or not at all. You can turn all agent emails off on your account page. No newsletters, no marketing, and nobody else's emails. Emails are sent from our own mail server.

If you write to us

The contact form stores your message, your email address if you give one, the page you wrote from and, if you're signed in, your account. We use it only to answer you and to fix what you report, and delete it after two years at the latest.

Cookies and storage in your browser

We use only what the site needs to work and what you choose; none of it tracks you, so no consent banner is needed.

Who else is involved

Hosting. Our servers, database and backups are at Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany, which processes the data only on our behalf.

Maps. Pages with a map load the map's background from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). Your browser asks their servers for the map tiles, so they see your IP address and which part of the map you look at. They don't receive anything else from us.

Shops. Bottle photos are fetched by our server, so shops don't see your visit to Wineseekr. When you follow a link to a shop, you are on the shop's website, under its own privacy policy.

We don't use any other services that receive your data, and nothing is transferred outside the EU/EEA. We disclose data to authorities only where the law obliges us to.

Why we may use it

Your account, agents, saved wines and the emails you ask for are processed to provide the service you signed up for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Server logs, visit statistics, preventing misuse of sign-in links and answering messages rest on our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful site (Art. 6(1)(f)); we have weighed that against your privacy and keep nothing that follows you across days.

Your rights

You can ask what we store about you, and have it corrected, deleted, restricted or handed to you in a portable form, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Most of it you can do yourself on your account page; for anything else write to info@wineseekr.com and we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).

Changes

When we change how we handle data, we update this page and its date. If a change affects account holders, we tell them by email first.
